Thoughts

I'm going to miss my job I have soo much I really do LOVE it! It has been one of the best jobs that I have ever had. The kids are great and so is the staff. So far I've been offered two keys and my choice of what I want to be in charge of if I would stay. It's been pretty funny. Even my principal tried to get me to stay but also told me it will be a good experience to go to Portland. Everyday the kids crack me up. I try not to pick favorites but sometimes its hard since I tend to like the trouble makers they just make me laugh and they really are smart. I've loved being in charge of art projects and it just reaffirms that I'm going into the right career even if getting a job once I graduate may be difficult. Once again I wish I could find a job I love this much in Rexburg but I've come to the conclusion that may never happen, hence one of the reasons I'm going to Portland, I'll be working more which in turn I will be earning more so that one day I may graduate even if that day is still 2 years away.

Good Times Babysitting

Today I got to spend my entire day with one of the cutest little boys I know and later we were joined by his older brother who is just as cute. We started off going to the movie Rio at the Kaysville Theatre, which he loved. Then we decided to head over to Castle Park, which of course was way fun! On our way home we thought that coloring with chalk would be fun so of course we had to stop by Taget to get some. Sad to say the cement was to0 HOT that we did not do chalk for very long.

We planned it perfect his older brother got home right when we pulled up to the house. Since both were tired from the days activities we just kinda hung around playing games and while I was making dinner they played with the hose spraying anything and everything. After dinner we headed for some frozen yogurt because you know I have to keep my reputation of being an awesome babysitter.

My Long Weekend

Last week I went home on Wednesday! Some girls that had been staying at my place were headed back to Colorado and said they would give me a free ride home. I wasn't planning on going cause that would be right in the middle of the week but then on Tuesday I found out that one of my classes was canceled do to a funeral that my professor needed to go to, in science I had a test which opened on Tuesday so I wouldn't have class on Thursday I just needed to take the test, and then in my Art History my professor asked if we wanted to get out 1/2 hour early or continue and see if we could finish Thursdays lecture too well you can guess what we picked. I finished most of my homework took two tests and decided to go home on wednesday. I only missed one class since I don't have any classes on Fridays anymore since band is done for the semester.

On Wednesday we stopped in Logan so one of the girls could talk to some people about a scholarship since I know some people in admissions thanks to my sister Ann, she was able to talk to people and get us free Aggie Ice cream coupons. It was my first time ever having Aggie ice cream I know what a shock since I used to go there but it's true. That same day I had lunch with my sister in-law at Gardener Village, found a jean skirt, and helped my aunt in her class room.

Thursday was devoted to homework.

Friday I was able to babysit my cousins who I've missed. It was fun Ellie Olivia and I made a fort and after watched a Barbi movie inside while eating popcorn. Olivia was worn out when we were done playing that she fell asleep while sitting with John.

Later I babysat some more for another family that I miss. We played all sorts of games including the game were we pick up all the toys in the house!

Saturday I went to the Gym and am still in pain from Body Pump I wish they taught that class up here. I also cleaned the house with the Family, went shopping with my mom, and then went to SLC with John and got Maren a brand new ipod shuffle and charger since she broke hers and luckily it was still under warranty tell May. Then it was off to the Toners to babysit! For the first time in my life I watched the Kids Choice Awards and I can honestly say I wasn't really missing anything but it was still fun playing trains and reading books with the boys.

Sunday was my friend Ryan's Farewell he is off to Mexico! I'm so excited for him. At about 9:30 it was back to Rexburg.

Overall it was a pretty good weekend. Sorry this post was so long with few pictures.

Babysitting

This summer I've been working and Babysitting and it's been a blast! Last week I took care of a three year old for a couple of days while his parents were out of town and we had a great time. I had never met a kid who could play Candy Land and Shoots and Ladders for two straight hours! until I took care of Jaden. We had fun he came to work with me (That's were I met his family) on Monday and that after noon we went to Discovery Gateway which he loved and anytime we went anywhere all he wanted to do was go to the Gateway.
.
Through the Gym I've met quit a few families that I now take care of there kids so it's rare that I get a Friday or Saterday night's off which is fine by me.
.
Here are a few pictures of Calon and Lukus when we went to the Discovery Gateway.

Are you older than your Mom?

(The Passey Family about 8 years ago.)

The Bryan's (a family that I used to take care of till they moved to Logan) have become a second family to me and I often go over just to hang out and play with the kids. Most often I'll go over at around one in the afternoon all the kids are in school but Jake who has morning kindergarten and Macy who is usually taking a nap so Jake and I will play any game he wants to. One day as we were playing a game he looked at me and asked, "Are you older than my mom?" I told him I wasn't and we continued our game. A few minutes later he asked, "Are you older than your mom?" At this question I was about to laugh but I told him I wasn't as soon as I told him I wasn't he asked, "Are you taller than your mom?" I told him I was. With this answer he looked at me and said, "but your mom's older than you?" Once again I told him she was and tried to explain that kids often grow taller than their parents. I thought that was the end of the conversation but I've had to tell him about three or four more times that I'm younger than my mom and his. It turns out he has been asking his mom the same questions of whether or not she's older than me. The concept is hard to understand and I think he still thinks about it often.

We've moved on to more questions like, "When are you going to have kids?" I tell him when I'm married. He than asks, "When will you get married?" and when I tell him I don't know I need to date someone before I get married, he informs me that I need to date a boy than. I love spending time with Jake he makes me laugh. I couldn't agree with him more I would love to be dating... And now Jake and Ellie, his older sister, are trying to get me to move in with them because they have an extra bed in the basement. Granted the bed is a folding one but they sure have talked it up apparently it is the warmest bed Jake has ever slept in. ( I don't believe Jake has ever slept in it.) I love going there they're so much fun to talk to.

A phone call makes anyday better

Mondays are not my favorite, but when Jamie called me and informed me that Kaden wanted to call because he missed me it made my day! I miss those boys and the fun we had and I can't wait to see them the next time they come to Utah.

End of Summer

Summer is ending which means school is starting and I promised my mom I would start a Blog before I head up to Utah State. This summer has been packed full of kids. I have been taking care of two kids, Kaden and Dylan Palmer during the day and at night I head to the Gym to take care of more children while their parents work out. It’s been a blast! The boys are supper easy but at the same time they’re exhausting. It’s none stop running and because of that I can almost tell you every park there is in the Layton and Kaysville area. We also went to the Dinosaur Park, the Gateway Museum, swimming, went for walks, played cars and trains, and more cars and trains. Here are a few pictures of the fun we've had......

It has truly been one of the most fun summers I've had and I'm sad to see it go, but I'm excited to head up to Utah State! Go Aggie's!
