FHE

This week for Family Home Evening my group went ice skating! It was really fun and reminded me a lot of skating on the ponds it was really rough ice since they don't Zamboni it. I am proud to say I never fell but came close when racing.

Pictures and Update

It's been a crazy few weeks school has been busy Here are a few pictures there aren't a lot because my camera is broken so this is what you get.

For my Birthday my roommates, Jordan, Brandi, and Kalyn, decorated the apt. with streamers. They made a sign with sticky notes and they gave me play dough and a crown (obviously they know that I miss playing with kids).

This say "Happy Birthday Kit-Kat" (My nickname)

Every Saturday I go to Idaho Falls with my roommate Brandi. Brandi's family lives there and she cleans 2 doctors offices so I help and we go shopping. It's just nice to get out of Rexburg for a day.

A Wish

All day I've been thinking of an opportunity that my art teacher told me and another kid in my class about. Every summer my professor goes on a europe trip with the school and students. I would have to apply in September and leave the next summer. It only costs $3500 and that includes everything including travel, hotel, food, and admissions. It's something I would love to do! To actually be able to see the paintings and sculptures we've been discussing in class would be amazing. For now it's a wish but we'll see what happens.

Better Day

The sun decided to come out today! It felt so good that after I took my science test I went for a walk. It's weird because even though I live here I still don't know were anything really is. When I was at Utah State I would go for long drives just to explore or my friend and I would do our favorite game, hope on a bus and see were it takes us. Logan probably has one of the best bus transportation systems, unlike Rexburg where I don't think they even have a bus system. I knew where everything was in Logan it was really nice. I probably walked about 2 miles just to figure out street names, other housing complexes, and figure out direction stuff it's a little different when you don't have the mountains. I can't wait for summer when I can really go for walks to explore. I love to explore.

Once again Mondays!

So at least I can say that it is a good thing that I spent Friday night doing homework. Yes I said Friday night! I spent 14 hours (I'm not exaggerating) doing homework for my online art class! I will never again do an online art class. I wouldn't have taken it if I didn't have to but they don't offer it in the class room and it's a pre-rec for my major. I still have about an hour for Book of Mormon that I need to work on.

To continue my complaining it doesn't look like I will be able to go to Green Canyon with my ward tomorrow cause they are leaving at 5:30 and there is no way that if I go I will get my homework done. On a normal day I get home about 7 or 8 and than I have about another hour for scripture study/ Book of Mormon stuff. Which gives me a few hours to spend some time to relax and get ready for bed. I think that if I go I'll be stressed the whole time cause I will be thinking of all the homework that needs to get done.

I know you don't really want to hear me complain it's just been a long long long day and tomorrow doesn't look much brighter. I promise my next post I will tell you about the fun things I've been doing. Possibly I'll post some pictures now that I have a computer I really don't have an excuse other than I'm to lazy to upload them.

Mondays

Can I say Mondays are not my day. I just have to vent a little cause I feel a little overwhelmed. I started the day feeling pretty good, I got up on time, thought I had all my homework done, and even felt good about all the classes I was taking. Until ENGLISH can I say I'm not in love with this class I feel like the teacher doesn't give enough information on how to do the homework but I don't know what I should ask to understand it better. We spend the whole class kinda debating which is one of my lest favorite ways to spend an hour. Than I had my History/ Philosophy to Education which I thought I didn't have any homework for but it turns out I had to read 2 very long articles and write a paper about both! That could explain why I felt like I was forgetting something all weekend, because I was. So know I need to do that by tomorrow and hope I can get some kind of credit for it.

On the good side I did score a 93% on an Art quiz and my band teacher picked on me to demonstrate how to play certain parts in the music, which is a good thing except for the fact I spend the rest of the class shacking.

I'm hoping I can get things figured out for tomorrow and that this week will turn out better than it has been today. O! and my laptop should be here tomorrow!

One Week Down

Here is an update of my first week at BYUI. It is very different from Utah State but it is different in a good way. I love that the gospel is mixed into everything it makes learning so much easier because I feel like there is a point in learning the subject like science. I also love that I can get anywhere on campus within 5 to 10 mins. I love that I can go bowling and ice skating for less than 3 dollars and it takes 5 mins to walk there. I love that anyone you meet will be your friend.

I'm taking Band, Art 101, Art 110, Art 237, Science, English, and Book of Mormon. I love my Tuesday Thursday classes I have Art 101, Science, Education history/ Philosophy and Book of Mormon, I'm done by 2 and am able to go straight to the library to do homework. One Monday Wednesday Friday I go to English, my least favorite class I feel frustrated when I'm in class and confused when I'm trying to do the homework. I'm hoping as I continue to go to class it will get better. I also have my education class just twice a week I don't have it on Friday which is good because so far I am just trying not to fall asleep in class. Last I have Band which is way better than it was at USU we get lots done in a short amount of time and never spend to much time on one section cause we have sectionals once a week. My Art 110 is online so far so good I wish it was offered in class. My Art 237 is a seminar class were artists will come and talk to us I only have it 5 Thursdays this semester, I will hear from an Illustrator, Photographer, Sculptor, Art Educator, and I think a graphic designer but I'm not sure. It should be a busy semester but a good on I'm excited.

The only thing I'm worried about is that I don't have a job yet luckily everything is paid for, for this year. Hopefully I'll find one within the next month.
